Method

The Kabina Method is transforming how the UK builds homes. By utilising centuries-old marine concepts, the Kabina Method ensures a safe, habitable home in the face of our changing environment.

THE KABINA METHOD

THE KABINA FLOOD-ADAPTIVE METHOD CONSISTS OF A UNIQUE COMBINATION OF COMPONENTS.

  • Buoyant foundations

  • Protective “Saxon Wall” (™) filtering moving floodwater, protecting the site from debris

  • Steel piles anchored deep in the ground to ensure that dwellings remain anchored in position

  • Umbilical utility hook-ups ensuring uninterrupted green power, clean water and sewage disposal.

Kabina homes apply long-proven technology to ensure that residents remain safe and untroubled by even severe flooding.  The houses are purposely located in swales, which have been created by a cut-and-fill process. In a flood, rainwater runs from the surrounding land directly into the swales until the homes naturally float off the ground, remaining dry and level.
